I just overheard the following: two students enter the gallery, one announes to the staff person, “I’m going to practice.” The staff person, who knows these students says, “I’m going to play next to you.” The other student says, “I’m going to cheer!”

A story told to me by a student this afternoon: a few days ago, the student met with his academic adviser to talk about his courses for next semester. And then, his adviser being his second round opponent, the student asked said adviser whether they should head over to the gallery to play their match The match didn’t work out so well for student. But what’s not to love about this story? Work as play as work.

Two players are trying a two-handed technique. And they’re bowling in synch. Not so effective, as technique, but fun to watch.
