I watched two students invent novel ways to launch the ball toward the cups: on their hands and knees, through their legs, with their feet—not kicking the ball but rolling it—and even throwing it underhanded.  I had to put a stop to the latter though because a few flew over the top net and right into the glass scoreboard.  What I appreciated: that they weren’t playing to win but playing to play.  They invented new games within and on top of the old game.
