In the gallery today I had a nice chat with the parents of a Haverford student.  They, like other visitors I’ve met, were inspired to play skee-ball, to ask questions about the tournament, the show, and the gallery. And most interesting to me, they asked about the graphic presentation, the brackets and names. I’ve repeated the following explanation several times but am not sure it’s either exactly right or truly relevant: “we wrapped the gallery in the tournament brackets because, well it just takes that much space to get everyone on the wall! And we want to get everyone on the wall because we want visitors and participants to feel like they’re inside the tournament, inside the community, and thus in the middle of something that includes everyone, the enrolled and the employed.”
