While they were at Haverford, Ted Purves and Zack Walters ran a role-playing game workshop. But not only did they meet after hours with James, John, Kostya, Melissa, and Alicia for game talk, they invented a role-playing game. In one day. Which we then played. For three hours. And while we didn’t “finish” the game—which, is rarely the point in such games, we did begin, struggle to make sense of the world and rules they had created, and imaginatively engage with conditions beyond our control. Congratulations to Ted and Zack for inventing such a masterfully scripted and rich game!
